There has been an expansion in the development of new homes with 2 new sites of recent years - Rocklyn and Hightrees complimenting existing residential areas such as Edgewater. Donaghadee's has received worldwide acclaim as the setting for BBCs drama- Hope Street, where the picturesque town is captured with aerial footage and main points of interest showcased i.e. the Harbour and Lighthouse, the Moat, the Commons, and surrounding farmland and heritage sites.
The coast line is a great attraction with daily sea swimmers all year round with a group set up called "The Chunky Dunkers" who have donated £65,000 over the last 10 years for local charities.
